Recipe: How to Make a Strawberry Banana Smoothie

I am going to do something different today for my blog and share a simple, easy smoothie recipe that I love to make on a daily basis.

I love sweets. I probably have one of the biggest sweet tooths ever. Every time I go to the gas station and I am in line waiting to pay, my eyes instantly stare at all the candy at the desk. I know in my mind that I should not grab one, but my heart just whispers “Candice, its’ just one candy bar.” Ugh. So there it goes. I buy, yet, another, candy bar and toss it among my ever-growing large stash in my purse.

It’s a horrible addiction and just recently in the past few months I have been trying to ween myself off of eating too much sugar. My mom is super healthy and she always makes all sorts of green juices and nutritional smoothies to start off her day. It definitely has inspired me to do the same, so I’m going to share with you what I make to satisfy my sweet cravings, but also not feel guilty.

Your gonna need a handful of frozen strawberries and one large banana.

a.) First, your gonna take your frozen strawberries and toss them into your blender of choice (I use a NutriBullet) and then, take your peeled, chopped frozen banana and toss that in as well.

b.) Next, your gonna add a cup of your milk of your choice (you can even substitute greek yogurt instead of using milk.. it tastes really good!)

c.) Lastly, your gonna blend all the ingredients together on blast until it becomes a creamy consistency (It will look very thick and whipped-like). If your using a small device like a NutriBullet, you can easily just sip the smoothie in the provided cups that come with it. If you don’t have it, you can use a spoon and just scoop it all out. It’s super thick and you can just eat it like yogurt or ice cream! And whatever you don’t finish you can store it in the fridge or freezer (freezer is better and it makes it last longer).

See? Super easy and it tastes amazing. Although this is such an icy treat and the weather is getting cold for the fall season, it is still a great delicacy to have that is super healthy and meets the requirements of the food group.
